The movie is very funny, but it has a tragic element to it. I was surprised to find this movie so well done, I have seen the stage version several times and have loved it. The costumes, sets, and set-design were magnificent. Hats off to the four gentlemen who played the Phantom previously and the wonderful Phantom and cast in this production. My wife had never seen the stage version or heard the soundtrack until recently I played the opening scene of the auction to her. The orchestra, the singing, and the setting is put together beautifully. Now I can hope for another re-buy to get a 4K/UHD version with Atmos (the Atmos being the critical concern).
